Thea The Band is Cosmic American Music from the Heart, for the Soul

Thea The Band is Ramona based singer-songwriter Thea Tochihara. The original sound is self-coined "Cosmic American," being a blend of lyric driven folk, emotive blues, and tap your toes rock.

Thea The Band is a diamond in the rough singer/songwriter with a sound that is indeed ‘Cosmic American.’ A blend of country/folk honest lyrics, emotive shades of soul/blues, and textures of indie rock. With a peppered history in relation to her strict Catholic upbringing, the theme of God, the devil, and the many vices that struggle can lead to often find their way into her songwriting. Otherwise, love, heartbreak, and the magic of both are lifeblood. Revealing that inside the beauty of our differences is also where we find our commonalities is the gift the listener receives from a Thea The Band live performance. A Denver, Colorado native who found her songwriting voice later in life, and about 1,000 miles west in San Diego, these songs have the magic that comes from having lived them. Love, hope, and honesty are timeless, palpable, and palatable with Thea The Band. There is always a silver lining.

With her first LP release in 2022 ‘American Honey’ nominated for the 2023 San Diego Music Awards ‘Best Country/ Americana Album, and her duet ‘Hitchhike To Heaven’ nominated yet again for the 2024 San Diego Music Awards ‘Best Folk/ Acoustic Song,’ and the newest release, 'Whiskey Revival' (released 7/5/24) landing her a whiskey licensing deal with San Diego Sunshine Co., the message is loud & clear; Thea The Band is just hitting her stride.  Catch the Revival in a town or city near you!

Whether playing a solo intimate setting sharing more personal stories about where the songs came from and what inspired them, or riding the musical waves when playing full band, the unadulterated desire to connect in a most intimate way is a constant. The belief that we want to be loved means we must also allow people to see who we truly are. After all, isn’t that what we’re here for?‘
